So many children in the inner city feel the impact of poverty on a daily basis. This is especially true at Christmas when many parents cannot afford to provide gifts for their children. Young children often don't understand this and interpret their lack of gifts as an indication that they are not loved or not special enough to receive a gift on Christmas.
Operation Holiday Hope changes that by putting a new, gift wrapped Christmas present into these little ones' hands to show, in a real, tangible way, they are children of God and everything we teach them all year long is true. These gifts tell them, "You are worth it. You have value. You aren't a throw away kid." And while it may seem like a small thing, when you've never in your life unwrapped a present, it's a really big deal!
